How should I size a crypto position differently than a stock trade because of crypto's higher volatility?

How this is calculated

• This starts from the standard risk-based formula: dollar risk (account times risk percent) divided by stop-loss distance gives a stock-style position size.
• The volatility multiplier then divides that stock-style size down further. A higher multiplier means a bigger position-size cut, since the same percent stop on a more volatile asset tends to get touched more often just from typical noise.
• The multiplier is your own estimate of how this asset has been moving lately compared to a typical large-cap stock. Check the asset's actual recent volatility yourself before choosing a value.
