How this is calculated
Disposable income equals monthly take-home income minus essential expenses minus your savings goal.
The suggested trading contribution uses a conservative starting guideline of up to half of whatever is left after expenses and savings, capped at your disposable income. This is a cautious starting point some risk-conscious traders use, not a fixed financial rule.
If you have not yet built a separate emergency fund, the generator flags that and suggests routing new money there first instead of into a trading account.
This tool never suggests funding a trading account from money already earmarked for rent, food, insurance, minimum debt payments, or savings goals you have set for yourself.
Even money that clears this budget should still pass a basic test: could you afford to lose all of it without changing your lifestyle? Trading capital should be money you can afford to lose entirely.
