Daily Risk Rules Card

A static, one-page card for the hard numbers that stop you from blowing up an account — max risk per trade, daily loss limit, and stop-trading triggers. Fill it out once, print it, and keep it next to your monitor.

Daily Risk Rules

Account size:   Effective date:

1. Per-Trade Limits

Max risk per trade (% of account):
Max risk per trade (dollar amount):
Max position size (% of account or shares/contracts):
Minimum risk/reward ratio I'll take:

2. Daily Limits

Daily loss limit (dollar amount that stops trading for the day):
Max number of trades I'll take today:
Max number of consecutive losses before I stop for the day:
Daily profit target that ends the session early (if any):

3. Cooldown & Stop-Trading Triggers

Minutes I sit out after hitting my daily loss limit:
What "revenge trading" looks like for me specifically:
I do not increase size after a loss to "make it back"
I do not add to a losing position outside my plan

4. What Breaks the Rules

If I hit my daily loss limit, I am done trading — no exceptions I've pre-approved for myself
If I take a trade outside these rules, I log it and review why before the next session
These limits apply regardless of how confident I feel about the next setup
