How this is calculated
Percent deployed equals the total market value of your open positions, divided by your total account value.
Cash buffer equals your account value minus your open position value. A negative buffer means your position value exceeds your account equity, which means you're using margin or leverage somewhere in the account.
This measures gross capital in the market, not risk defined by your stop-loss placement. A fully deployed account with tight stops can carry less actual risk than a lightly deployed account with wide stops. Use the portfolio heat tool linked below for the stop-based risk view.
There's no single correct percentage to be deployed at. Keeping a cash buffer gives you room to take a new setup without selling something else first, and room to absorb a margin call or unexpected expense without forced selling.
