How this is calculated
RSI (Relative Strength Index) measures the speed and magnitude of recent price changes on a 0 to 100 scale. 14-period is the standard, most common lookback.
Traditional reference points mark 70 and above as overbought and 30 and below as oversold, though these are conventions, not fixed rules, and different traders and markets use different thresholds.
This tool scales your suggested risk in a straight line based on how far the current RSI sits from the neutral midline of 50, in either direction, down to a minimum floor you set.
An extreme RSI reading reflects a stretched, high-momentum move. It does not predict whether that move continues or reverses. Strong trends can hold overbought or oversold readings for extended periods without reversing.
This is a size-scaling heuristic for managing momentum and volatility risk, not a trade entry or exit signal. Enter your own current RSI reading from your charting platform; this tool does not fetch live market data.
