How many winning trades do I need to recover a specific dollar loss?

Average loss and win rate are optional, but adding them gives a more realistic estimate.

Enter the amount to recover and your average win, then click Calculate.
How this is calculated
Best-case count divides the amount to recover by your average win, assuming every trade until then is a winner. That's a ceiling case, not a forecast. Actual trading includes losses along the way.
If you provide your average loss and win rate, this tool also estimates a realistic trade count using your trade expectancy: win rate times average win, minus loss rate times average loss.
If your expectancy at these inputs is zero or negative, no number of trades recovers the loss on average. That's a signal to fix the edge, not to keep trading the same way for longer.
This tool is not a reason to increase position size to "catch up" faster. Bigger size after a loss is how a manageable drawdown turns into an account-ending one.
