How this is calculated
Each checked box adds one point toward a sound add, out of 8 possible points.
Adding to a winning position, sometimes called pyramiding, can be a planned, disciplined part of a strategy, or it can be a way of chasing size into a trade because it feels good right now. This checklist is built to tell the difference.
The biggest red flags are usually an unmoved stop-loss on the original shares, no recalculated total risk on the combined position, and adding to the same position for a third time or more.
This is a self-check on your reasoning, not a signal that the trade will keep working. A well-reasoned add can still lose, and a poorly-reasoned one can still work out. The checklist is about process, not the outcome.
