A live clock that reads the current UTC time and shows which forex trading sessions, Sydney, Tokyo, London, and New York, are active, whether they're overlapping, and whether the market is in a thin-liquidity or weekend window.

How is this calculated?

The current UTC time is checked against approximate session hours for Sydney, Tokyo, London, and New York. Overlapping sessions, especially London and New York, indicate higher liquidity. A single active Sydney-only session or the Friday-to-Sunday closure window are flagged as thin liquidity or market closed.

How this is calculated

Session hours are approximate and given in UTC: Sydney 21:00-06:00, Tokyo 00:00-09:00, London 07:00-16:00, New York 12:00-21:00. Actual hours shift by about an hour twice a year around daylight saving changes in each region, and this tool does not adjust for that.
The highest-liquidity window is the London/New York overlap, roughly 12:00-16:00 UTC, when the two largest forex trading centers are both active.
The thinnest weekday window is roughly 21:00-00:00 UTC, after New York closes and before Tokyo opens, when only the Sydney session is active and spreads tend to widen.
The forex market is effectively closed from Friday's New York close until Sunday's Sydney open. This tool flags that weekend window, but exact broker open and close times vary.
This is a liquidity-awareness reference, not a trading signal. Thin liquidity means wider spreads and more slippage risk, it doesn't predict direction.
