How this is calculated
A session-anchored VWAP resets at the start of each new regular trading session, 9:30 AM US Eastern Time for US equities, and accumulates volume-weighted price data until the session closes at 4:00 PM Eastern.
This timer shows elapsed time since the open while the regular session is live, and a countdown to the next 9:30 AM Eastern open the rest of the time, correctly skipping weekends.
This does not cover pre-market or after-hours VWAP, which some platforms calculate separately or not at all.
Market holidays are not accounted for. On a holiday, the countdown will point to a time when the market is actually still closed.
