How this is calculated
This tool uses fixed tiers, not a scientific formula: a single loss within your plan gets a 5-minute baseline. Exceeding your plan adds time, and each additional consecutive loss adds more.
At 4 or more consecutive losses, or 3 or more consecutive losses where you exceeded your plan, the recommendation is to stop trading for the rest of the day rather than set another timer.
These tiers are a discipline guideline based on common trading-psychology practice, not a rule enforced by your broker, and not a guarantee that stepping away removes all emotional risk.
The timer runs in your browser tab. If you close or reload the page, it resets.
This is different from the daily loss limit cooldown timer, which triggers off a percentage of your daily limit used. This one triggers off any single loss, whether or not you're anywhere near that limit.
Risk & liability disclaimer: This tool provides an educational discipline guideline only, not financial, psychological, or legal advice. It does not enforce anything on your broker account and cannot stop you from placing a trade. Trading involves risk of loss.
