Calculate expectancy separately for your core setups and your extra trades, multiply each by its own trade count and trading days per month, then compare the combined result to your core-only result. The difference is what the extra trades add or cost.

Does trading less always make more money?

No. If extra trades share the same edge as core trades, they add proportionally to the result. The simulator is only informative when the extra trades genuinely have a different, usually lower, win rate or average size than the core setups.

How this is calculated

Expectancy per trade equals (win rate × average winner) minus (loss rate × average loser), calculated separately for your core trades and your extra trades.
Monthly result for each group equals its expectancy per trade, multiplied by its trades per day, multiplied by your trading days per month.
The comparison shown is your projected monthly result with both groups combined, versus what you'd make from core trades alone. The difference is exactly what your extra trades are adding or costing.
This does not claim that trading less always makes more money. If your extra trades genuinely share your core setup's edge, they add proportionally to your result. The simulation is only useful if you honestly estimate a separate win rate and average trade size for the extra trades you actually take.
